Wellers Auctioneers Limited of Chertsey and Guildford is pleased to announce another garden feature/architectural salvage auction. The sale consists of a 400-lot private collection assembled over the last quarter of a century and moved for convenience of sale to Gaywood Farm, Edenbridge, Kent. This location is just four miles South East of M25/J14.

The Auction will take place on Saturday 16th May from 10am, and will commence with 100 lots of general architectural salvage including a range of chimney pots in exceptionally good condition, as well as lighting, door furniture, Victorian gates. In addition, there will be a quantity of very large Victorian and Edwardian brass and cast iron pots and pans, which would have been used in stately homes by the downstairs cooks and their assistants to prepare the meals for the gentry of the period.

At approximately 11am, the auction of garden statuary and features will commence; once again, all lots are in good condition and are of mainly well-weathered composition stone. There is a wide-ranging choice of classical statuary, busts, troughs, urns, plinths and columns. Auctioneer, Luke Duddy, was particularly impressed by lot 314; a Victorian stone wall feature bench that would make a welcome addition to any landscape project. Wellers Director in charge, Terry Wright, favours the cast iron samples on offer – particularly lots 344/346, which includes a pair of cream-painted, profusely decorated voluptuous design urns on plinths with a total height of 2.5 metres. This lot is estimated at £800 to £1,200, and like all other lots in this auction, is sold without reserve or VAT on the hammer.

Mid-May is an ideal time to change the design or outlook of your garden, so this auction is the perfect place to start come May 16th.
