A trip on the historic Spa Valley Railway in Royal Tunbridge Wells offers passengers a wonderful nostalgic day as the trains wind their way through the beautiful countryside of the High Weald.

With a destination at every station it’s easy to plan an exciting day out with family or friends.

Why not choose to explore Eridge, Groombridge, High Rocks or Royal Tunbridge Wells as the railway has stations at all four destinations. With joint discounted tickets available it’s easy to combine a train journey with entry to attractions including the impressive Groombridge Place with its walled garden, moat and forest.

There are plenty of railway experiences to choose from including Adult Driver Experiences, Afternoon Tea, Fish & Chip Suppers, Real Ale Trains, Steam Festivals,  Murder Mystery Events and High Weald Belle Dining.

Children can enjoy character days including Days Out with Thomas, Paddington, Postman Pat and Peppa Pig.  There are ghost trains at Halloween and the magical Santa Specials run in December.

The railway is open every weekend until 2nd November, plus selected weekdays (mainly during the school holidays).  See the timetable on the website for further details.

Tickets may be purchased online, or are available on the day of travel from all stations.   The railway recommends booking in advance where possible, particularly on Special Events days, as these can be extremely popular and often completely sell out in advance!

On Green/Yellow/Purple operating days (see timetable), whole-line tickets allow unlimited travel and breaks of journey on the day of issue.

The railway is proud to be wheelchair friendly, and the majority of trains are equipped with ramps to permit ease of access for visitors with reduced mobility.  Buggies, prams, bicycles and dogs are all welcome, and carried free of charge!

A through return ticket from any Southern station to the Spa Valley Railway via Eridge is available at weekends and bank holidays.
