‘ASHFOOD!’, a family food and drink festival, took place over the weekend of July 1st and 2nd at Ashford’s Elwick Place and welcomed over 1,000 visitors to the area during the event.
With a vast array of treats on offer, visitors enjoyed wines from Meophams Wines, prosecco from Fizzy Flamingo, cocktails from hide bar by herd. and drinks from Elwick Place’s Picturehouse cinema, Matches Sports Bar and Leo & Sage café. And, guests were spoiled for choice when it came to delicious eats with the likes of Il Pakkero’s famous pizzas, Jay’s Soul Food, Wild Souls Greek Street Food, Pasta Rasta and sweet treats from Margate’s renowned Cookie Man. Leo & Sage were also on hand with their famous gelato and Picturehouse samples from their menu.
The event opened on Saturday with a performance from local artist Roxanne Hicks. “We were so excited when Elwick first opened and then it never really got going. Today has been great! We were unsure about seating etc, but the benches are great, so great we’ve stayed for 2 hours longer and 3 more drinks.”
