August at Hever Castle: A Summer of Adventure
Step back into the age of chivalry this August as Hever Castle brings medieval England vividly to life with an unforgettable programme of family-friendly entertainment throughout the school holidays.

At the heart of the summer programme is A Knight’s Tale, a brand-new interactive experience where young visitors can become squires for the day, joining King Arthur’s court to test their courage, teamwork and knightly skills through a lively blend of theatre, storytelling and hands-on challenges.
The skies above the castle also come alive with twice-daily falconry displays from Willow’s Bird of Prey Centre, showcasing magnificent birds in free flight while offering fascinating insights into this ancient medieval tradition. Visitors can even meet the birds up close after each performance.
On selected dates in August, Hever Castle celebrates 40 years of spectacular jousting with its renowned tournament. Taking place on 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23 and 28 – 31 August, armoured knights thunder into the arena for thrilling displays of horsemanship, daring stunts and medieval combat in one of the UK’s longest-running historical spectacles.

Set against the backdrop of Hever Castle’s magnificent gardens and historic surroundings, it’s a summer packed with history, myth and adventure, making Hever Castle the perfect destination for creating lasting family memories.
