Avante Care & Support takes part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support
On Friday 29th September staff at Avante Care & Supports Head Office in Faversham, Kent, hosted a coffee morning to raise much needed funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
There are now 2.5 million people in the UK living with cancer. By 2030, it will be 4 million people, and Macmillan Cancer Support want to be there for them all.
Macmillan Cancer Supports goal is to make sure no one faces cancer alone.
The charity provides medical, emotional, practical and financial support, as well as campaigning for better cancer care. And because cancer affects more than just those facing it, they are there for friends and family too.
Fundraising events such as The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning helps to raise valuable funds to continue to provide care and support to those who desperately need it.
Many staff members from Avante Care & Supports Head Office baked a wide range of cakes such as lemon meringue cake, fresh cream sponges, scones and lollipop sponge cakes to name but a few, not forgetting one of our staff members mum, Mrs Green who very kindly made a bread pudding and lemon drizzle cake which were a popular choice on the day.
The event was enjoyed by all, and was made extra special by the attendance of two Home Care and Support Service Users, Richard and Olive who live in Faversham and with their carers, came along to support the day.
The event was a great success with a total of £121.10 raised for Macmillan Cancer Support.
