Beautiful Gardens to Visit Around the UK

The UK is an area of outstanding natural beauty with many stunning green areas that nature lovers will adore. Visiting these gardens and garden cities can be a refreshing change of pace from the busy cities and towns found throughout the UK and can be nice places to explore with the family.

Here are a few of the best places in the UK to consider.

RHS Wisley, Surrey

RHS Wisley in the beautiful county of Surrey just south of London is one of the great gardens in the UK and somewhat that attracts people from all over the world. RHS Wisley is a lovely day out covering around 240 acres filled with picturesque gardens, ponds, a fruit orchard and a stunning glasshouse containing over 5,000 varieties of tropical plants.

Kew Gardens, London

There are many fantastic green areas in the capital but it is Kew Gardens that is, arguably, the best. The UNESCO listed area has around 2 million visitors each year who come to explore the world’s biggest botanical and mycological collections and take in the lovely views in one of the capital’s nicest areas.

Welwyn Garden City

Welwyn Garden City in Hertfordshire was the second garden city in all of England and somewhere that anyone with a love of nature will enjoy visiting. With well-kept green spaces found throughout the city, there is a sense of peace and tranquillity here which is hard to find anywhere else. Additionally, it can be easy to reach from London with a train from Finsbury Park to Welwyn Garden City taking less than 30 minutes.

Hever Castle, Kent

Hever Castle in Kent features award-winning gardens covering 125 acres which can allow for a great day out. In addition to the stunning gardens, the castle itself is an incredible sight to behold and somewhere with a fascinating history to discover as the seat of the Boleyn family between 1462 and 1539.

Blenheim Palace & Gardens, Cotswolds

A UNESCO World Heritage site which also happens to be the birthplace of Winston Churchill, Blenheim Palace & Gardens is the principal residence of the Dukes of Marlborough and a stunning example of Baroque architecture. The beautiful park was also created by famous landscape gardener “Capability Brown” and somewhere that almost feels like stepping back in time.

Anyone with a love of nature will have a fantastic day out at these stunning destinations, all of which are picture-perfect and a nice escape from the busy cities around the country.
