Apple IDs

The Apple ID is an important part of setting up your device and you should definitely create one to get more out of your experience. An Apple ID is essentially a user profile which can be used across multiple devices, sharing your settings, iCloud information and user data. Even if you lose your device, you can still recover all of your valuable data thanks to your Apple ID.

When you set up your Apple ID, you’ll be able to add all of the trusted devices for each Apple device you own. It’s relatively straightforward to add and manage these devices. For example, you can add your iPhone, Mac laptop and iPad. If you lose or sell a device, you’ll also need to know how to remove devices from Apple ID.

The easiest way to remove devices from your Apple ID list is by going into system settings, choosing Apple ID and then selecting the device you want to remove. It’s a good idea to sync up any data using AnyTrans or a similar program first.

Save Storage Space

These days, the iCloud is the best way to store files and photos, as it prevents losing any valuable information should you have an issue with your device. However, you still only have limited space on the cloud, and while it’s good to save all your favourite memories and moments, you may soon run out of available memory.

Thankfully, there are a few simple ways you can save space on the iCloud and ensure you have more room to save the things important to you. To begin with, eliminate any duplicate images by going to Utilities and Duplicates in your photo settings. iOS has a specific feature designed to detect duplicate images, making it easy to remove them.

The best way to free up space is to check what is actually taking up the most space so you can remove it. Select the Manage Storage option in your iCloud and scroll down to get a detailed breakdown of how much space everything is using. From here, you can easily delete old files and things you no longer need.

Avoid Distractions

While smartphones and tablets are incredibly useful, they can be very distracting. It’s easy to get lost reading your favourite blog or check out the latest social media updates from your friends. While you can turn your phone off, it’s usually important to have it on in case someone needs to contact you. Thankfully, the new versions of iOS have a solution.

Focus Mode is one of the latest features introduced by Apple to help improve the usability of their devices. It expands on Do No Disturb mode by offering different features and allowing you to customise your settings. You can add multiple settings profiles too, creating different Focus Modes for different situations.

All you have to do to set this up is go to settings and open Focus. Here you can customise settings to block certain notifications and ensure you won’t be distracted during important moments. The Sleep, Work and Personal settings are default, but it’s easy to change them however you want.
