We highly recommend you splurge a bit—after all, you just hit the jackpot. Why not treat yourself like royalty and book a room at Hever Castle Luxury Bed and Breakfast? According to their website, they have been, “awarded five stars by Quality in Tourism and a Certificate of Excellence by TripAdvisor [and are] continually achieving an average score of 9.4/10 on” You can book the Edward VII Suite on a weekend for rates starting at £360. Trust us—it’s so worth it!

Hever Castle & Gardens

Well, since you’re staying right next door anyways, it makes complete sense to saunter on over to Hever Castle. According to the castle’s website, “Spanning more than 700 years, the history of Hever Castle is rich and varied. The original medieval defensive castle, with its gatehouse and walled bailey, was built in 1270. In the 15th and 16th centuries it was the home of one of the most powerful families in the country, the Boleyns, who added the Tudor dwelling within the walls.” From the gardens, to archery, to jousting, to mazes, and an extraordinary playground, there’s so much to do and explore. Of course, there’s a shop where you can grab some awesome goodies—and with your winnings, you won’t have to hold back. You can buy anything and everything that tickles your fancy.

Kent’s Largest Wildlife Park

Visit Port Lympne Animal Reserve to explore “600 acres of Kentish Savannah!” There is so much to do here—board a safari truck and take a tour to see the over 900 animals across 75 species, journey through Dinosaur Forest and even test our your paleontology skills as you dig for fossils, and then spend your heart out at the gift shop. If you’re feeling extra generous after having won the lottery, you can support a great cause by adopting an animal or ten with a charitable donation.

Canterbury Cathedral

Forming part of a UNESCO World Heritage site, Canterbury Cathedral is one of the oldest and most famous Christian structures in England. Its history is rich and powerful. Take in the awe inspiring beauty of the Romanesque and Gothic architecture and then be sure to visit all three spots that make up this UNESCO site— Canterbury Cathedral, St Augustine’s Abbey, and St Martin’s Church.

Luxury Glamping

Save a night or two for a luxury glamping experience on a family farm. Greenhill Glamping is located in Alkham Valley, between Folkestone and Dover. Greenhill Glamping has two huts available—Shepherd’s Watch and Ploughman’s Retreat. Both huts have been lovingly restored by the Burrows family, who have owned Greenhill Farm for over 50 years. The farm is located on natural chalk grassland that is grazed by their own flock of sheep. Not big on glamping? They have a luxurious bed and breakfast, too.

Alkham Court Bed & Breakfast is a 5 star luxury stay and National winners of England’s Best Bed and Breakfast 2018. If enjoying the stunning views and luxury rooms is more your style, you can’t go wrong staying here instead of glamping. The Burrows family seems to have thought of everything!

With finances being of no concern to you after your lottery win, the choices that Kent provides are endless. There is so much to do, experience, and see—from adults, to teens, to toddlers, Kent has something for absolutely everyone.
