Calling all families & groups! Get kart-building for charity!
Local children’s hospice charity chYps is calling on families and local groups to get kart-buildin in preparation for its Sponsored Krazy Kart Race.
The new event on Sunday 6 October will see teams race through Tunbridge Wells in personalised man-powered karts to help raise vital funds for the charity.
chYps Children’s Hospice at Home must raise £1.47million every year to be able to care for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions in their own homes across West Kent.
Each vehicle must have brakes and functioning steering, but teams can be creative as they like when personalising their kart.
Rachel Holweger, director of fundraising, said, “The great thing about this event is that you don’t have to be an engineer to enter. Karts can be as basic or as sophisticated as you like and there are plenty of places you can buy a cheap chassis to customise.
“We hope lots of local people will come on board for this fantastic event, to support a local charity that does so much to help very poorly children in need.”
Teams pay a £50 entry fee and should raise a minimum of just £500 in sponsorship.
To take pole position and register your team in this unique event please contact chYps events organiser Emma Middleton on 07501 168897 or email emma.middleton@chyps.org
