This summer, following the recent success of SMOKESTAK’s old-school Saturday barbecue takeaway, chef and founder David Carter will be firing up his wood-fired smoker and offering DIY bun boxes and smoked meats by the pound for delivery across London and nationwide.

Barbecue aficionados can order SMOKESTAK’s signature smoked meats and bun kits directly to their front door delivered via overnight courier. All meat will be fully-smoked / cooked in their Shoreditch restaurant before being chilled and vacuum-packed for dispatch nationwide in a thermally insulated and recyclable box. Reheat and assembly instructions are included in each box which can then be enjoyed at leisure. For those wishing to recreate the full SMOKESTAK experience at home can press play on a soundtrack of the restaurant’s favourite tunes.

Meat has been carefully sourced from long-standing suppliers Philip Warren Butchers and Swaledalebefore being gently smoked over kiln-dried English oak for up to 15 hours in David’s Ole Hickory wood-fired smoker imported from the barbecue heartland of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Meat-lovers can take their pick from a choice of 15 hour beef brisket, brined pulled pork shoulder, dry-rubbed pork belly and chilli and fennel sausage, weighed out by the pound, or simply opt for all of the above – a 2-pounder kit contains half a pound of each, while the 4-pounder kit contains a pound of each, accompanied by barbecue sauces and house pickles. SMOKESTAK’s cult favourite buns can be recreated in the comfort of diners’ own homes with the DIY bun boxes, containing four pillowy buns ready to be stuffed full of a choice of brisket, house barbecue sauce and pickled red chilli; pork belly with mustard barbecue sauce and pickled cucumber; or pulled pork with stout barbecue sauce and ginger slaw.

David will also be sending out whole 30-day dry aged beef rib racks, as well as a line-up of additional garnishes including house barbecue and mustard barbecue saucestangy pickled red chilli and pickled cucumber, a house spice rub, and beef dripping. For something sweet, there is sticky toffee pudding with salted caramel. For those who fancy a cocktail or two, Smokestak’s grapefruit negroni, green chilli tommy’s, burnt peach old fashioned, bloody mary and rum punch come pre-bottled and ready to serve over ice.

David says, “Summer is obviously prime barbecue season, so as we can’t yet re-open our doors in Shoreditch, what better way to make the most of it than by delivering a little bit of SMOKESTAK to doorsteps all over the UK. We’ve been working hard to make sure our smoked meats, buns, slaws and sauces arrive exactly as we want them to, and we’re excited to bring our barbecue to the homes of as many people as we can.

Nationwide delivery of ‘SMOKESTAK at home’ launches on Friday 31st July via smokestakshop.co.uk. Online orders can be made from 12 noon on Monday 27th July. Shipping costs £4.95 with free delivery when you spend over £75.
