DINO LIVE EVENT IS A ROARING SUCCESS!
This summer, West Kent’s largest shopping centre is home to some of the largest creatures to have ever walked the Earth… Dinosaurs!
DINO LIVE is now open at Royal Victoria Place in Tunbridge Wells and will run throughout the school holidays until Bank Holiday Monday 28 August. The 4 week spectacular event at Royal Victoria Place is a first for Kent and Sussex and is being partnered by the Kent Messenger and KMFM. Admission is free and will be open during centre trading hours each day.
During the events opening week, Royal Victoria Place has welcomed over 175,000 visitors, with the first weekend seeing a 10% increase against last year.
DINO LIVE provides visitors with a unique journey spanning more than 250 million years.
The event consists of a series of scenes located throughout the shopping centre where the dinosaurs are displayed in environments replicating their natural habitat. These life size animatronic beasts will captivate visitors as they watch them move, roar and even breathe!
Visitors are able to enjoy the thrill of being able to get close and personal with the famous and fearsome Tyrannosaurus Rex, plus other life size dinosaurs to include the Ceratosaurus, Iguanodon and the aptly named Kentrosaurus. Children can enjoy even more fun by having their photo (remember to bring your camera!) with a baby T-Rex and each weekend throughout August the ‘Dino Draw’ workshop will allow them to get creative and learn more about their prehistoric favourites.
Marc Burchett, Marketing Manager of Royal Victoria Place commented, “Dino Live has proved to be a big hit during its opening week and has really exceeded our expectations. We have seen not only local families come to see the event but also visitors from across the South East region. The dinosaurs are certainly proving to be very popular and it’s great to see the smiles on the faces of everyone that sees them.”
Karen Pengelly, Royal Tunbridge Wells Town Centre Manager commented, “It’s great to see that Royal Victoria Place are staging such a high profile and engaging event through the all-important summer holiday period. The fact that the event is enjoyable, informative and fun too will make it deservedly a must see for families. Town Centres have to work hard to attract visitors and DINO Live is a great reason to visit Tunbridge Wells this summer’
