Don Papa Rum splashes into summer with new cocktail recipes

Don Papa Rum, the premium single island rum from the Philippines, splashes into summer with new cocktail recipes, that take inspiration from their tropical island home and bring the perfect serves for a party by the pool. They debut four new Don Papa cocktails, created by Aaron Goodall, the brand’s Manila-based Cocktail Maestro: Sun in the tropics – a refreshing thirst quencher inspired by the vibrant sun rays of Sugarlandia; Bacolod spritz – a bright and fizzy poolside favourite; Pinay Colada – a sweet, rich and fun twist on the iconic cocktail; and Papa’s Poolside Punch – a Don Papa punch packed with tingling summer flavours for all to enjoy. Sun in the tropics

• Don Papa 7 (45mL)

• Dry curaçao (15mL)

• Orgeat (15mL)

• Mango puree (10mL)

• Lime juice (20mL)

Glassware: Balloon style rocks glass

Ice & garnish: Cubed ice; mint spring and lime wheel.

Method: In a shaker, squeeze the juice in half a lime. Add a dash of orgeat juice and pour in the Don Papa Rum and mango puree. Shake the mixture vigorously and pour into a glass

Bacolod spritz

• Don Papa 7 (45mL)

• Lime juice (15mL)

• Ginger beer (90mL)

Glassware: Highball

Ice & garnish: Cubed iced, lime wedge and mint spring.

Method: In highball glass, add Don Papa Rum, ginger beer and ice. Garnish with mint and lime wheel.

Papa’s poolside punch

• Don Papa 7 (45mL)

• Dalandan juice (60mL)

• Lemon juice (25mL)

• Honey – 1:1 with simple syrup (15mL)

• Mint

Glassware: Punch bowl and serving glasses

Ice & garnish: Cubed ice; mint spring and edible flower.

Method: Mix Don Papa Rum, dalandan juice, lemon juice, mint and honey. Mix and garnish with edible flowers.
