Elwick Place’s Leo & Sage Announced As Finalist

Elwick Place’s trendy independent cafe, Leo & Sage, has this month been recognised for its growth and successes, being announced as a finalist in the 2023 Taste of Kent Awards.

Since opening its doors in the summer of 2022, Leo & Sage has become a popular favourite and foodie destination for Ashford locals, and now their hard work has paid off as they’ve been shortlisted for two prestigious local awards.

This year’s Taste of Kent Awards for business categories was announced earlier this month, and revealed finalists for categories including independent retailers, food and drink markets, restaurants, street food, growers, farmers and start-ups, the latter of which Elwick Place’s popular cafe Leo & Sage have been shortlisted.

The startup category recognises Kent businesses that have started trading in the food and drink industry over the past 18 months and will be judged at the Taste of Kent Festival which takes place on June 15th, 2023.

Giulia Waddington, owner of Leo & Sage, said, “We’re so excited to have made it to the finals of such an amazing Kent awards. We’ve got our fingers and toes crossed that all our hard work over the past year will pay off.”

The Taste of Kent Awards winners will be announced at the (new for this year) Taste of Kent Festival happening on June 15. Hosted by the Taste of the Kent Awards, the inaugural TOKA Food and Drink Festival is open to the public and trade, and attendees will have the opportunity to sample and buy the delicious food and drink products which have been shortlisted from up to 75 finalists.
