Escape to a luxurious Christmas retreat at Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve

Treat your loved ones to a truly unforgettable Christmas on safari at Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve. The 600-acre reserve is Kent’s biggest wildlife park and is offering exclusive Christmas getaways at their wildly popular lodges this festive season, including celebrity-favourite Lion Lodge.

Christmas retreats at Port Lympne offer a uniquely indulgent experience and an opportunity to reconnect with nature and your loved ones in the heart of the Kent countryside surrounded by over 800 rare and endangered animals. Christmas packages include everything you need to enjoy a hassle-free Christmas in some of the most striking surroundings that the county has to offer.

Port Lympne boasts a range of singular luxury accommodation options across its stunning 600-acre parkland, each with its own distinct charm. Guests can choose from nine different ways to stay, including Port Lympne’s iconic Lion Lodge and Tiger Lodge, which both feature outdoor, wood-fired bathtubs and floor-to-ceiling windows with exclusive views of your big cat neighbours. Elsewhere on the Reserve, guests can choose from a range of Port Lympne’s most popular accommodation, including Treehouses nestled high above the frosted woodland canopy, the historic Port Lympne Hotel, or the lavish Wigwam and cosy cabins of Leopard Creek, which offer a sweeping wintry vista towards the Kent coast with exclusive views of stunning Amur leopards. No matter which accommodation you choose, you will have the use of a private golf buggy for the duration of your stay, allowing you to effortlessly explore the Reserve.

Upon arrival on Christmas Eve, guests are greeted by Port Lympne’s jovial elves before embarking upon a safari tour to explore the remarkable Kentish savannah and its unusual wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, white rhino, and wildebeest. As the evening arrives, indulge in a wonderful three-course dinner in the elegant Garden Room Restaurant, before a VIP from the North Pole makes an appearance!

On the big day, Port Lympne is closed to the public, giving you exclusive access to the entire Reserve. The Port Lympne elves will handle everything, ensuring you can relax and enjoy the most magical day of the year with the people you love. A full English breakfast will be served in the morning and board games and festive film favourites will be available for you to enjoy throughout the day. Lee Edney, Port Lympne’s Executive Head Chef, has personally designed a sumptuous menu for Christmas Day lunch, which will be served with a glass of Gusbourne English sparkling wine. Afterwards, be sure to watch the Kings’ Speech in the Port Lympne Mansion, where King Edward VIII once visited!

After the sun sets on your perfect Christmas Day, a handmade buffet dinner will be served as homely log fires crackle across the Reserve and the animals settle down for the evening, preparing to meet you and your family in the morning.

On Boxing Day, you will have the unforgettable opportunity to get up-close-and-personal with one of the animal residents of Port Lympne on a personalised animal experience. Tickets to our nearby sister site, Howletts Wild Animal Park, are also included in all Christmas packages at Port Lympne, so be sure to stop off there and visit the UK’s largest herd of African elephants and Kent’s only giant anteaters on your way home.

With truly stunning accommodation, gloriously festive entertainment, decadent dining and unforgettable animal experiences a Port Lympne Christmas retreat is the ideal way to ensure a truly magical festive season.
