Folkestone Harbour Announces: Wünder Harbour Bavarian Weekender in The Goods Yard

Folkestone Harbour is proud to announce that, for the first time ever, it is set to host a Bavarian Weekender in The Goods Yard from 22 to 24 September, as part of an Autumn and Winter of activity at the popular Kent seaside visitor attraction.

Folkestone Harbour will be putting its unique spin on this well known, annual Germanic festival of food, beer and fun times. This is not one to miss!

Wünder Harbour, which will be completely free to enter, will see the family of independent business that give The Goods Yard its unique flavour, put a Bavarian twist on their already much loved, unique food and drink offerings. Get ready for authentic, flame grilled Bratwurst from The Meat Shack, a herby hog roast from the exceedingly popular Pork & Co, steins, pretzels and more. These Bavarian themed treats are being prepared by the independent businesses in The Goods Yard exclusively for the inaugural Wünder Harbour and will only be available across that weekend.

One-off entertainment is also planned, with the festivities headlined by the Bettensteiner Footstomper Oompah Band at 3pm in The Goods Yard, a classic wipeout ride being set up in The Marketplace and more live music to be announced.

Operations Manager James Davies said “With the opening of six brand new, indoor businesses this year, we’ve already done a lot of work to make Folkestone Harbour a year-round destination, whilst remaining the place to be in the summer. Putting on an event like Wünder Harbour in late September marks the beginning of what we hope will be our most successful Autumn and Winter period to date.”

Other activities at Folkestone Harbour this year will include the coverage of the Rugby World Cup, the return of The Walking with Ghosts project in the Harbour Station, Halloween movie classics on The Harbour Screen and the start of the 2023 Festive Market on 17 November.

Wünder Harbour is running from Friday 22 – Sunday 24 September at The Goods Yard, Folkestone Harbour

Live music will include the below with more to be announced!

o   Friday 22 September 6pm – 8pm Samuel Ashton and the Instincts.

o   Saturday 23 September 3pm – 5pm The Bettensteiner Footstomper Oompah Band.
