Fudge Kitchen Launches Campaign for MND Awareness

Fudge Kitchen is proud to announce a meaningful partnership with the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association, with a series of impactful and engaging fundraising activities across the country throughout June.

This month, Fudge Kitchen teams and customers will come together to raise vital funds and awareness for those affected by motor neurone disease, a life-shortening neurological condition that affects the nerves in the brain and spinal cord. With fundraising activity scheduled around key June milestones, including Father’s Day, National Fudge Day and Global MND Awareness Day, Fudge Kitchen aim to raise both funds and awareness for a cause that is close to their hearts.

The decision to support the MND Association this year is a deeply personal one for Katy Towse, Fudge Kitchen PR and Marketing Manager, who lost her father, Andy Morris, to MND in 2019. Seeing firsthand the profound impact this condition can have, Katy was keen to shine a light on a disease that urgently needs more awareness, more research, and more support;

“This partnership is our way of standing in solidarity with every individual and family affected by MND. I’m very grateful for the support my own family received from the MND Association during my dad’s illness, and I’m delighted to now have the opportunity to give something back. Of course, our goal is to raise essential funds and awareness for the charity—but on a personal level, I’m proud to be part of a campaign that not only has real impact but also celebrates his memory in such a fun and meaningful way.”

MND Association Relationship Fundraiser, Libby Hannelle said: “We are so grateful to Katy and the team at Fudge Kitchen for choosing to support the MND Association with not one, but three incredible events!

“With a chance to handmake delicious fudge, a limited-edition Rocky Road slice which has been made especially to raise money for the MND Association, and the Tour de Fudge, there are plenty of ways for customers and supporters to get involved during the month of June.

“For people living with MND and their families support like this really does mean the world. “Every penny raised will allow the Association to improve care and support, while also funding research into potential new treatments and the promise of the cure.

“We wish Katy and the team the very best of luck!”

Fudge-Making with MND – Thursday 12 June, Canterbury Shop

To kickstart the campaign, staff from the MND Association will join the fudge artisans at our Canterbury shop to handmake delicious fudge, raising awareness ahead of Global MND Awareness Day. The public is invited to meet the team, watch fudge being made the traditional way, and learn more about the vital work of the MND Association.

Limited Edition Rocky Road Charity Slice – 12–16 June

Available exclusively in all Fudge Kitchen shops from 12 to 16 June, this indulgent Rocky Road slice has been created specially to support the MND Association. 100% of proceeds from each slice will go directly to the charity, supporting people living with MND and funding life-changing research.

Tour de Fudge – Sunday 15 June (Father’s Day)

On Sunday 15 June, Fudge Kitchen teams across our six locations will take on the ‘Tour de Fudge’, cycling a collective 603 miles—the total distance between all the UK Fudge Kitchen shops. Each team will cycle in-shop using static bikes to reach their target miles, fundraising through JustGiving and on-site cash collections. Customers are invited to cheer on the teams and donate in person or online.
