Get your children active and out in the fresh air this summer with Tudor Park Marriott Hotel & Country Club Junior Golf Camps.

The hotel in Bearsted, near Maidstone, will be running two of its popular camps for 5-16 year olds during the school holidays – the first takes place Monday to Friday, August 3rd-7th, and the second from August 17th-21st.

Older, more experienced, golfers will play nine holes each day with tuition followed by a competition. Younger, less experienced golfers have tuition on the range with a PGA golf professional and then competitions on the golf course.  At the end of each week, a junior champion will be chosen who will receive a seven-day pass to play during the remainder of the summer holidays*.

Tudor Park’s PGA golf professional, Jason Muller, says: “Golf gives children so many skills. It teaches them dedication, and playing in a team encourages good social skills. It is amazing how competitive they become.”

In the May half term holiday, eight–year-old Hayden Taylor said his favourite part of the golf camp was “taking really big shots on the green – it was great”.

11-year-old Sam Feehan said: “I have learnt to chip a lot better and I think I have got a lot better at putting as well. I really like the way they make it fun with the games and prizes.”

His 16-year-old brother, Jack, has caught the golf bug big time and is hoping to spend the summer out on the greens: “I have quit football to take up golf – I love the fact it is quite social,” he said.

Tudor Park is seen as a centre of excellence for growing the game of golf among young players. It holds Golf Mark status, endorsed by the English Golf Union and English Women’s Golf Association, which recognises clubs that make an outstanding and innovative contribution to junior and beginner golf.
