GIG FOR LIFE TO SUPPORT CANCER RESEARCH UK
Gig For Life is a new musical event that has been created for the friends and supporters of Cancer Research UK. It takes place on Saturday 27th May at The Hop Farm in Kent.
Cancer has touched us all in one way or another, but it is not always about loss and sadness. It is also about celebrating life, shouting about the success stories, and recognising all of the unsung heroes that help, care and nurse family members and friends to recovery. Gig For Life is a party and it is about having fun!
Come along on the second May Bank Holiday and enjoy an impressive line-up of musical talent! Legendary rock band 10cc are headlining, along with soul singer and Brit Award Nominee Maverick Sabre. There will also be special performances by chart topping band Toploader, Amerciana Group Los Pacaminos, featuring Paul Young, and the very best in local musical talent including the wonderful Steffan James, Kent-based rock band The Standard Lamps and the folky, harmonious Arcelia.

There will also be the finest local food and drink on offer and some fun family activities to keep the kids entertained!
Amber Creative Ltd are the organisers behind the event. Event director, David Rivers, said: “I’m absolutely thrilled 10cc are headlining Gig For Life. Their music, like the festival, is all about having fun together. We’ve got a stonking good line-up which covers all musical tastes. It’s a family festival with something for everyone and we hope it will create some wonderful memories.”
He added: “It’s going to be a fantastic day, there’s so much good quality music that everyone will be able to enjoy it with their friends and family, however old or young you might be!”
Sharon Baldwin, Cancer Research UK’s fundraising manager for Kent said: “Gig For Life is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to enjoy a one-day family festival on their doorstep. Buy your tickets now, the money raised is vital, it could be life-saving.”

Tickets are on sale online with a limited number at 10% discount on a first come, first served basis. There are also some great group discounts and select few VIP tickets.
People will be able to camp at The Hop Farm on the Saturday night. They can also travel by train to Paddock Wood, where a free bus service will take them to the venue.
