Grand Medieval Joust at Dover Castle

With flags flying, and medieval melodies filling the air, the scene is set for Dover Castle’s first Grand Medieval Joust on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th August 10am – 5pm. Our highly skilled Knights, whether old adversaries seeking to settle a score or newcomers looking to make their name, will gallop headlong down the tilt rail in a series of bouts throughout the day, lances poised to strike the decisive blow.

Joust

In addition to the jousts, there is a packed programme of entertainment. Families can immerse themselves in the pageantry of the occasion as they visit the tented encampments and meet the knights and their squires.  Experience the realities of medieval life: the cooking, the carpenter using his lathe, the spectacle maker and the gruesome delights of the medieval surgeon.  Our court jester will amuse the crowds and little ones can take part in hobby horse jousting and kids battles.
