Hospice Heroes complete 250-mile walk across Kent… And they’ve got the scars to prove it!

#HospiceHeroes, Donna French (Biddenden), Teresa Sanders (Biddenden), James Aylott (Ashford) and Simon McKay (Egerton) have completed their 250-mile trek across Kent raising over £6,000 for Pilgrims Hospices and The Friends of Wisdom Hospice.

Walk the Walk Kent’s 14-day march, making moves against cancer was no easy feat, Simon was rushed to the emergency room with foot blisters, our Hospice Heroes were attacked by bees, but even the hottest day of the year wasn’t enough to stop them crossing the finish line.

As always, our Hospice Heroes went above and beyond, covering more than the planned 250 miles after some navigation issues and closed footpaths led our team off course.

Walk the Walk Kent started on Sunday 14th May in Rochester and finished in Smarden on Saturday 27th May. (Please see below for the full agenda)

Our Hospice Heroes walked the walk and now we are calling on you to talk the talk and help us reach our £25,000 target. Please help us by sharing/mentioning our Virgin Money Giving Page…

To operate the Pilgrim’s Hospices and The Friends of Wisdom Hospice for one year costs £16.2 million. The Government contributes roughly 4 million, just 25% of what is needed to keep Wisdom and Pilgrim’s open.

Without donations, fundraisers and the generosity of local communities these charities will cease to exist so please help us raise awareness and support your community today.

This is for Kent, Your Hospices for our Community!

“Money raised will help patients and their families get through the most difficult of times as well as the running costs of Pilgrims and Wisdom Hospice, enabling the charities to continue to support adults across Medway, Swale, Canterbury, Thanet and Ashford who need end-of-life care.” – Said Donna French
