Join the Just a Drop Dash and make your kilometres count
Whether pounding the pavements, strolling the commons or orbiting our local parks, we’ve been donning our trainers more than ever since lock down began. So why not lace up for a good cause by joining the Just A Drop 100km Dash to raise money for the charity’s Coronavirus Response Programme.
Founded in 1998, Just a Drop provides practical, sustainable safe water solutions across the world, partnering with grassroots local communities to deliver practical assistance. To date, the charity has delivered over 300 projects across 32 countries, bringing safe water, sanitation and hygiene programmes to over 1.6 million people. Partnering with Charitable Travel and Wendy Wu Tours, Just a Drop is encouraging runners, joggers, hikers and footpath shufflers to tally 100 kilometres this summer—the same distance as a popular hiking route from Banteay Srei into the Phnom Kulen National Park in Cambodia, finishing at the magnificent Angkor Wat.
In addition, by raising a minimum of £100 for Just a Drop, participants will have the opportunity to win an amazing Charitable Travel/Wendy Wu Tours holiday for two to Cambodia and Vietnam, including flights, hotels in Siem Reap and Ho Chi Minh City, and an award-winning Wendy Wu Tours Victoria Cruise on the Mekong River from Phnom Penh to Ho Chi Minh City. To take part in the Just a Drop 100km Dash, participants first need to create a JustGiving page HERE.
Complete your 100km by August 31, 2020 and track it on the activity tracker of your choice (FitBit; Strava; Map My Run etc), then upload your activity to your JustGiving page to be in for a chance to win.
Participants need to raise a minimum of just £100 to be part of the prize draw. Every additional £100 raised through JustGiving qualifies for an extra entry. All donations will go towards Just a Drop’s Coronavirus Response Programme, ensuring that over 380,000 people from remote and often forgotten communities across Asia, Africa and Latin America can access safe water and training about COVID-19, handwashing and soap-making. This will help vulnerable communities reduce the spread of the virus and keep them as healthy as possible.
