The JP Live Forever Memorial Festival started in the summer of 2022 following the passing of Jason Prebble on New Year’s Eve 2021. The festival was created in memory to continue and honour the legacy that he bestowed upon everyone he touched. JP was a larger-than-life character and always wanted to give people the best of himself and asked for nothing in return other than love and kindness.  His continued act of kindness made his family believe he would have loved nothing more than in his memory to try and bring our community together to show how great Folkestone can be. The family also wanted to give back to The Three Wishes Project who cared for Jason and his family while Jason was undergoing end-of-life care.

The JP Live Forever Memorial Festival concept blends JP’s loves of Football, Music, festivals, and Family.

The Festival is entering its 3rd year and after the overwhelming success of the previous two years at Hawkinge Football Club, the event has a brand-new location in the heart of Folkestone – Folkestone Invicta and The Dugout will host the event on Saturday 13th July 2024.  Adult tickets for this year cost only £5 with child tickets available for Just £3 including access to all children’s activities.

The event will boast its strongest lineup to date.

At 2 PM, the continuance of former Kent football teams and fierce rivals Rendezvous FC and East Cliff Pavilion FC commences. Many of JPs friends and family included in this memorial match will grace their hometown’s football pitch for the first time in front of a bumper crowd. You can expect little quality but plenty of laughably embarrassing moments from this one!

Folkestone-favourite indie cover band Turmoil return with their resident afternoon slot brought back to the event due to popular demand. The prime-time evening booking is the first Oasis tribute to play the event: OASIIS. One of the UK’s biggest Oasis tributes head from Birmingham to Folkestone signifying the growing stature of the family festival. Signing off the night will be up-and-coming Kent-based DJ Leon Hines as his club takeover Gruuvments will take us into the night!

If the football and music aren’t enough, you can expect a wide array of kid’s activities, plus food and festival stalls to give you the full festival experience. After giving away an Ibizan holiday last year, the event’s famous raffles continue for 2024 including more holidays and getaways.

With every memorial festival hosted, the funds raised go to supporting future JP Live Forever Events as well as charitable donations toward The Three Wishes Project.

The Three Wishes Project

The Three Wishes Project helps to make meaningful memories for families with a loved one undergoing end-of-life care.

The charity has 3 objectives: For patients, to dignify their death and celebrate their life. For family members, to humanize the dying process and create positive memories. For ICU clinicians, to foster patient and family-centred end-of-life care and inspire a deeper sense of our vocation.
