Kent’s Songbird Wines are starting an initiative to shine a light on brilliant wines

Kent’s Songbird Wines are starting an initiative to shine a light on brilliant wines from around the world and will regularly be highlighting different wineries, grape varieties, and producers throughout the year to our customers, often in collaboration with our local trade partners.

For our first ‘Spotlight on: Producer’ this month, we’ll be promoting top Cava producer Vilarnau throughout August. Vilarnau is a small, artisan and cutting-edge Cava winery, near Barcelona, specialising in small-scale production of exclusive high-quality Cavas, drawing its inspiration and innovation from Spain’s most avant-garde city. Here at Songbird Wines, we’ve long admired their considerable efforts in constantly working to improve their wines year on year, as well as their efforts to have as little impact on the environment as possible.

We are working closely with the winery to provide offers, giveaways and most excitingly two pop-up Vilarnau tasting bars, one in Canterbury and one in Faversham.

The first tasting event will take place in the garden at The Phoenix Tavern in Faversham this Friday 12th August from 5pm to 7pm where we’ll be giving out free samples of both Vilarnau’s organic Brut Reserva Cava in their eye-catchingly beautiful bottle, as well as their 0.0% offering – one of the best non-alcoholic sparkling wines we’ve tried in recent years.

The second of our Cava pop-ups will be going ahead on Saturday 20th August, when team Songbird will be taking the tasting down to Don Juan’s in the Dane John between 4pm and 6pm, accompanied by live music.

As well as free tastings, people will also have the chance to enter giveaways (prizes for which will include gift sets and magnum bottles) and make use of our online offer on select Vilarnau wines for the duration of the month.

You can find out a little more about Songbird Wines here, and we’re also on Facebook and Instagram, where we’ll be posting about our goings-on regularly.
