Local Hospice Heroes Prepare to Walk 250 MILES across KENT!
Four friends met at their local pub in Kent, each with their own heartbreaking encounters with cancer, yearning to give back to the hospices and staff that supported both them and their loved ones.
As the drinks started flowing so did the ideas, and what most would have brushed off as pub talk they have made a reality.
Hiking 250 miles across Kent in 14 days, hoping to raise £25,000 for The Pilgrim’s Hospices and The Friends of the Wisdom Hospice are our #HospiceHeroes, Donna French, Teresa Sanders, James Aylott and Simon McKay.

A little less conversation and a lot more action is needed and our #HospiceHeroes are leading by example, Walking the Walk starting on Sunday 14th May in Rochester and finishing in Smarden on Saturday 27th May.

To operate the Pilgrim’s Hospices and The Friends of Wisdom Hospice for one year costs £16.2 million with The Government contributing roughly 4 million, just 25% of what is needed to keep Wisdom and Pilgrim’s open. We don’t need an accountant to tell us those figures don’t match up. Without donations, fundraisers and the generosity of local communities these charities will cease to exist.
Every year these Hospices help thousands of people suffering from untreatable illnesses, in return we are asking the people of Kent to pull together, participate, donate, recruit and GET INVOLVED!
