NANDO’S NEW ORPINGTON RESTAURANT PROVIDES A CANVAS FOR SOUTH AFRICAN ARTIST DION CUPIDO
Nando’s brand new restaurant in Orpington is opened its doors on Wednesday 7th December at the Walnuts Shopping Centre, with a very special commission from coveted South African artist, Dion Cupido.
Cupido, whose list of clients include Beyoncé, spent six days in Orpington producing a spectacular full wall mural especially for the 94-seat restaurant in his bold, abstract style using industrial inks and oil paints.
His work is a further addition to Nando’s growing Southern African art collection, a passion of the restaurant group which supports South African artists through the commission of their work, then displays more than 17,000 on its restaurant walls across the world.
Keith Lloyd, regional managing director said: “We are privileged to have had Dion Cupido choose our restaurant walls to display his stunning work. The team is really looking forward to welcoming all the locals and visitors to feast on our food, as well as our art!”
Nando’s Orpington has created 25 new jobs.
