Oliver Schneider, Reuthe’s Nursery, appointed as an ellenor charity Ambassador

ellenor, the only charity in Kent that provides children’s nursing care in the home has announced that Oliver Schneider of Reuthe’s Nursery and Woodland Garden has been appointed as an ambassador for the charity.

Based in Sevenoaks Reuthe’s are the Lost Gardens of Sevenoaks, an acclaimed plant nursery of rare Rhododendron, shrubs and trees, set in 11 acres of ancient woodland, part of the Green Sand Ridge in the Weald of Kent.

Oliver joins a very dedicated group of Ambassadors in South West Kent, which includes Victoria Sampson, former past President of the West Kent Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and a corporate lawyer and partner at CooperBurnett LLP.

We are absolutely delighted that Oliver has agreed to be an Ambassador for ellenor” says Charlotte Gadd, Area Fundraiser for West Kent.  “Year on year we are seeing an increase in the number of children who need our palliative care services so having key business people in our community raising our profile for us is vital.”

Ambassadors fulfil a vital role, supporting the work which ellenor does for families facing terminal illness.  They make a very real difference locally by raising the profile of ellenor, and representing the charity at a variety of events.

Oliver Schneider is the current custodian of the Lost Gardens of Sevenoaks.

Shortly after my daughter was born, she was in Paediatric Intensive Care and was told she would pass away. The support provided by a charity similar to ellenor was invaluable, which is why when approached to become an Ambassador, I was delighted and honoured to help in any way I am able.

We have a beautiful 11 acre site that contains a specialist plant nursery, cafe, various event spaces and walks though a significant collection of rare trees and shrubs. The venue can be used for fund raising activities for ellenor plus a destination for patients and families to draw comfort from nature” Oliver.

Referrals to our children’s team increased by 24% from previous years and we know that we still need to reach more seriously ill babies, children and young adults.
