Orpington Priory Community Hub

Body

Orpington Priory is an iconic building within the London Borough of Bromley. It is also the oldest and historically most important building in the area. Many sections of the buildings are medieval, some even older, and the Priory buildings and gardens are Grade II listed.

With good reason, the former Urban District Council bought the Priory buildings and gardens for the people of Orpington in 1949. Now that Bromley’s museum and library have been moved out, the Orpington Priory Community Hub (OPCH) has been established to safeguard the future of the buildings and facilities for Orpington. OPCH want to ensure that the Priory is accessible and widely used by our local community, as well as visitors, for many years to come.

With this in mind, OPCH are looking for your help and involvement;

With the wide option of spaces and rooms available at Orpington Priory, we’re now looking to talk to local groups and organisations that need meeting or rehearsal facilities, display areas etc. And we’re keen to speak with local businesses that are looking for conference, client meetings or dining facilities in a unique environment.

Also, OPCH is also looking for individuals and companies to become Community Partners through sponsorship as well as any services that can be offered as the buildings are modified and refurbished to accommodate the different activities that will be taking place. This could be by way of building and other materials, labour or cash donations.

So in summary, if there is anything that you, your society or business can do to help us secure Orpington Priory’s future for the community, then all of us at OPCH as well as the people of Orpington will be most grateful.
