Prestigious band joins line up for the 40th anniversary of the Leeds Castle Classical Concert

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Leeds Castle Classical Concert, The Band of the Grenadier Guards will join the prestigious line up on Saturday 14th July.

The Band of the Grenadier Guards has been filling the streets of London with music and colour for over three centuries, and this year they bring their truly historic sounds and sights to Leeds Castle in Kent.  The band will be marching down from Leeds Castle’s Fairfax Hall in full guard regalia to their famous Grenadier Guard Band marches which will provide a wonderful spectacle.

Since the 17th Century the music of the Band of the Grenadier Guards has been the backdrop to our national life and the modern day band and its musicians proudly continue in this tradition. Much of the work the Band carries out is providing musical support to State and Ceremonial events. Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and Horseguard’s Parade continue to bear witness to musical excellence during the Changing of the Guard, Queen’s Birthday Parade, and the State Opening of Parliament to name just a few.

Heritage Events, organisers of the concert said “We are honoured to have such a special military band this year to help our 40th celebrations. The Band of the Grenadier Guards will perform music to rouse the audience alongside the colour and tradition of this year’s summer concert”.

Every year at the Leeds Castle Classical Concert there a charitable collection is taken up and this year’s chosen charity is the ABF The Soldiers’ Charity who are the Army’s National Charity. They were established as the Army Benevolent Fund in 1944 to ensure that the hardships endured by soldiers in the aftermath of 1914-18 were never repeated. Their aim is to provide a lifetime of support to soldiers, veterans and their immediate families, from every conflict, helping countless people from the Army family.

Throughout the concert, along with much loved classical favourites, the audience will be treated to a special finale including greatest hits from the 70s era.  This special Ruby celebratory event will have a real birthday party atmosphere throughout the summer’s afternoon and evening.

Tickets are currently available until the 30th April at the spring offer rates of £40 picnic style or £50 for reserved seating in front of the stage.  For more information and to book tickets visit
