Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London is inviting guests and the local community to come together to celebrate this festive season with two new sparkling stays, Wintery Wonderland and Christmas on the Park, as well as a range of celebratory experiences from Heston Blumenthal’s historical Christmas menu to the Wishing Tree taking pride of place at the heart of the hotel.

The festive season is a wonderful time to visit London, with neighbouring Hyde Park transformed into a Winter Wonderland, and surrounding Knightsbridge and Sloane Street’s luxurious boutiques lit up with stunning displays, and the hotel is brimming with festive delights.

Guests can fully immerse themselves in festive joy as the hotel invites the local community to celebrate with them. Whilst the hotel dazzles with sparkling festive decorations throughout, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London’s much-loved ‘Wishing Tree’ will take centre stage from 25 November 2022. With philanthropy and community at its core, the team at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London will be spreading goodwill and festive cheer with the funds from the Wishing Tree going to Make-A-Wish-Foundation to help make critically ill children’s wishes come true. Guests will be invited to write their wishes and entrust them to the Wishing Tree together with a ‘Community’ tree that has been lovingly decorated with unique ornaments created by the local community of luxury boutiques and school children. Furthermore, gorgeous pieces and items have been donated where an ongoing silent auction will be sold in aid of Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Amongst the other celebrations this festive season, the hotel’s reception area will be transformed into ‘Santa’s Hyde Away’ where the focal point is of a grotto that has been decorated by a student from Royal Academy of Art. Little guests can visit Santa’s Hyde Away and have a photo taken with the great man himself on Christmas Day. Christmas Carols by the hotel’s neighbouring More House School will fill the lobby with traditional Christmas melodies between 2pm and 4pm over the first two weekends of December. A festive pop up will take place outside the hotel on Thursday 1 December between 5 and 6 pm and again on Thursday 22 December – anyone passing by the hotel, as well as guests of the hotel, will be able to join in on the fun where the team will serve hot chocolate, mince pies and of course mulled wine; alongside a choir singing all the festive classics.

London is undeniably one of the city’s finest culinary destinations and with three outstanding restaurants – guests at the hotel are truly spoilt for choice this festive season. Dinner by Heston Blumenthal will offer a two Michelin starred historic festive journey including a Plum Meat Fruit, Fillet of Beef Royale and to finish the evening – the restaurant’s famed Tipsy Cake with a Christmas twist. Settle in at The Rosebery for festive Afternoon Teas with a roaring log fire, decorations and views over dazzling Knightsbridge. This year the hotel has partnered with the country’s most adored cuddly toy company – Jellycat – to offer the little ones a very special tea, complete with a Jellycat Christmas toy and signature Mandarin Oriental teas and sweet treats. The capital’s hotspot – The Aubrey, is the place to go for festive brunches and their celebratory New Year’s Eve Party will be one not to miss where guests will be entertained all night long with a series of DJs and a delicious izakaya menu with Japanese infused cocktails to accompany.

For a bit of downtime or a glamorous treat, The Spa at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London is the perfect haven and the award-winning team have put together a series of special festive treatments to suit all needs, which will be offered alongside their extensive spa treatment list.
