Renovate your bathroom with The Bromley Bathroom Company

Thinking of renovating your bathroom?

The bathroom increasingly plays a unique role in the home – it has become a place of sanctuary and relaxation, as well as being an important factor in the resale value.  Creating a space that is both functional and beautiful can seem a daunting task but seeking guidance from an expert will make the whole process easier.

The Bromley Bathroom Company is a family-run business, based in West Wickham, Kent, offering a complete service from supply of individual products to project management of the whole renovation.  The large 140 sqm showroom houses around 40 layouts, displaying a comprehensive range of high-quality products.

Robert Rankin had been designing, supplying and fitting bathrooms for 15 years before setting up the showroom.  He is very knowledgeable about all aspects of the installation process, as well as being passionate about providing a great service and supplying products that will look great and function superbly for many years. Robert’s wife, Heather, works alongside him, focusing on design, sourcing products and producing CAD drawings to allow customers to visualise the space they are creating.

Their overall aim is to showcase the best quality products available, the vast majority of which are British or European, including some unusual items, such as concrete basins, handmade tiles and interesting brassware.  Their view is that a bathroom can offer an amazing opportunity to express flair and individuality.

Robert and Heather’s top tips for a successful bathroom project:

  • Work with a supply company with a proven, customer-focused track record

  • Design the room for your needs, not a future purchaser of your house.  If you only use a shower for example, think about creating a generous-sized wetroom – a bath can easily be retro-fitted in the future

  • It is important to test the products before buying – how they look, feel and operate – something that cannot be done when buying online

  • The bathroom is the harshest environment in the house – aim to buy quality products, built to withstand the heat and steam for years to come.

  • If budget is an issue, focus on spending money on quality brassware and products with moving parts, such as shower doors

  • ALWAYS use a good fitter/installation team with excellent references – a poor installer can ruin high end products
