Santa’s Big Arrival with Paw Patrol at Royal Victoria Place
Christmas will officially arrive at Royal Victoria Place next week as the centre welcomes Santa and his magical elves to Tunbridge Wells, kick-starting a packed schedule of events running throughout the festive period.
Santa will be taking up residence from 4:30pm on Thursday 14th November for an exciting event to mark the opening of his Arctic Grotto with kids favourites Chase and Marshall from the hit TV show PAW Patrol. Hosted by KMFM’s breakfast presenter Laura Crockett, the event will also feature live musical performances by the Tunbridge Wells Rock Choir.
Chase and Marshall will be meeting fans at intervals throughout the day at 2.30pm, 3.30pm, 5.30pm and 6.30pm so little shoppers will have plenty of opportunities to have a PAW Patrol selfie!
Santa’s brand-new grotto, styled as a magical arctic forest with thousands of twinkling lights, will be a festive fixture every day from Friday 15th November until Christmas Eve. A visit to see Santa costs only £7 per child and includes a wrapped gift, and a photography service will also be available to capture the special moment.
Sensory Santa visits will take place every Tuesday between 10am and 11am providing an opportunity for children with autism or special needs to visit Santa in a sensory friendly environment. Booking in advance is not required and a £1 donation for every visit will be made to the National Autistic Society.
In the build up to Christmas, Royal Victoria Place will host a number of other festive activities and events, including a Festive Farmers Market every Saturday throughout December in Market Square. The centre’s brand-new Central Market will also be open for the festive fun and there will be a range of charity partnerships throughout the centre allowing shoppers to give back this Christmas.
To round off the week, every Sunday in December will see Royal Victoria Place host free festive entertainment to keep all the family entertained whilst enjoying parking for only £2 all day on Sundays.
Nicky Blanchard, Centre Manager at Royal Victoria Place, said: “Christmas is always a special time of the year here at Royal Victoria Place and Santa’s arrival is one of the highlights of the festive season for everyone in Tunbridge Wells.
“It is also our first year with Central Market being open and this brand-new dining experience is certainly proving to be popular. We’re confident that it will be a big hit with Christmas shoppers and locals alike.
“We can’t wait to welcome visitors to our brand new artic-themed grotto and look forward to kicking things off next Thursday with a special appearance from PAW Patrol!”
Late night shopping until 8pm starts from Monday 16th until Monday 23rd December, with free parking between 4pm and 8pm. The only exception is Sunday 22nd December, when opening times will be 10:30am to 4:30pm.
