Sensible Equestrian Services have been established for 10 years at Turnden in Cranbrook.

In that time myself and my daughter Kristie have  worked hard to establish a good quality, well managed livery yard and riding school with caring and passionate staff.

We have both been in the equine business for 20+yrs, but taking Turnden on was a whole new adventure. The land at Turnden consisted of an 80 acre field with a main house and some outbuildings.

We divided the fields into 14 paddocks, built a £60,000 sand school measuring 40 x 55 and built 30 stables. It is now a busy riding school teaching children and adults, as well as an established riding group for 60 year olds.

We have  instructors who teach 30 + clients a week, from nervous people who have lost their confidence to riders that want to learn or improve their dressage, show jumping, flat work and much more.

We have approx. 40 horses and ponies along with 4 donkeys who all regard Turnden as their home.

Some given to us because their owners were unable to look after them, others we rescued from starvation and neglect and some we actually bought because they were ideal for using in our school.

We are open 10am until 4pm for enquiries, visitors welcome.
