Yale, the home security expert, has unveiled the latest addition to its smart home security portfolio – introducing the Smart Delivery Box.

The perfect ‘safe place’ to keep daily parcel deliveries secured when out and about, Yale’s new Smart Delivery Box has been designed as the perfect solution to ensure your deliveries are protected from being misplaced, damaged or, in the worst-case scenario, stolen.

With recent statistics revealing that more than 7.5 million parcels were lost or stolen since lockdown1, Yale has utilised its 180 years of experience in the security market to create a smart solution to protect packages when homeowners are out and about.

Whether you need a last-minute dress for an upcoming wedding, be the first to nab the latest gadget release or if you urgently need to get your hands on the must-have Christmas gifts for the kids, there’s no need to worry if you’re not there to receive your special delivery.

The Smart Delivery Box is on hand to ensure your parcels are kept safe and secure, with no need for awkward interactions with neighbours or rushed trips to the local collection depot before closing time. Your parcels are there in just a tap and a twist.

And the Smart Delivery Box is secure, as well as smart. Fitted with a Yale Keyless lock, you can set:

  • a one-time 24-hour pin code,
  • create up to 20 unique codes for multiple couriers,
  • or if you want to make your Smart Delivery Box even smarter, you can even upgrade to a Yale Module, which allows you to control your Smart Delivery Box via a Yale App on your mobile device.

By using a Yale Module, the Smart Delivery Box will:

  • allow for remote lock and unlocking of the product via a smartphone
  • send notifications to the Yale app to inform you when a package has successfully been delivered
  • and provide users with access to an audit trail to monitor their daily deliveries.

For users of the Yale Sync Smart Home Alarm, the Yale Sync Module will also allow integration with their existing alarm system. When unlocking the Smart Delivery Box once you’ve arrived from work, for example, the Sync Alarm will disarm, making for a seamless journey into your home at the end of the day.

Yale’s latest smart addition will also work effortlessly with a range of voice assistants including Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, offering heightened smart capabilities for added convenience.

The Yale Smart Delivery Box is also available on the new Yale Access platform, which enables consumers to use the Yale Access app to perform several functionalities, from locking and unlocking the door, to checking the status of a door and viewing exactly who comes and goes thanks to the 24/7 ‘Access History.’

Alongside these smart benefits, the Smart Delivery Box also has Yale’s mechanical seal of approval. The Smart Delivery Box features a high security nightlatch and sacrificial strip to form a safe and secure solution, so you can ensure your parcels will be there when you arrive home.

Kevin Spencer, Head of Product Management at Yale, said about the new smart home gadget: “We’re thrilled to be launching the new Smart Delivery Box, offering consumers with an easy, convenient and most importantly, safe and secure way to protect their daily parcel deliveries.

“With millions of consumers purchasing online each day, the need for a secure location to store parcels is becoming more and more important. The Smart Delivery Box gives homeowners the peace of mind that their deliveries, big or small, will be there when they arrive home, giving reassurance when they need it most.”

And following a successful launch of the new smart home product, new accessories for the Smart Delivery Box are also planned for release in 2022, offering convenient new features and stylish extras.

The Yale Smart Delivery Box, in both Black and Grey finishes, will be available to purchase from the Yale Store (https://yalehome.co.uk/yale-smart-delivery-box/) £299.99.
