content with elevating the Canterbury eating and drinking scene with its London-style dining experience and innovative, refined menu featuring top quality ingredients, fine wine and acclaimed cocktails – all set in a stunning, reimagined art-deco building – guests at herd. can now indulge in a tempting weekend brunch menu with the option of making it bottomless. 

Expect a modern take on a traditional weekend brunch, but with elevated dishes that are a true celebration of the finest cuts of meat and Kentish ingredients. 

The ‘5-mile fry up’ champions local produce from within a five-mile radius of herd.’s prominent Canterbury city-centre address – which is just steps from the Marlowe Theatre and Westgate Towers – and epitomises the restaurant’s commitment to food miles and the farm-to-plate movement. Brunch purists can delight in the eggs Benedict – but with a herd.-esque braised short rib twist, or choose from a host of perfectly conceived and delicious plates including a paprika and rosemary Irish grass-fed rump steak; the heady chilli hit of shakshuka with Wingham Bakery sourdough; and sweet-tooth favourite, herd.’s French toast with Amaretto Chantilly cream. 

Forget the go-to avo and eggs on toast, herd.‘s brunch is set to shake up your weekend ritual with an inspired menu that oozes creative class; and that’s not forgetting a very appealing cocktail menu for those wanting to make an occasion of it. With flavour-packed Bloody Marys, and signature 49a espresso and passion fruit Martinis, elevate your brunch experience to bottomless cocktails for just £45pp or bottomless Cava for £39pp!

To a backdrop of glinting metallics, calming greens, a decadent dining room, restaurant-sidebar and secluded hide lounge, Christmas at herd. promises to be a festive foray into culinary delights, exquisite wines and delicious cocktails, all sure to leave each guest full of wonder and joy!

From a special three-course menu, guests can choose from a delicious mix of dishes that demonstrate herd.’s ethos of providing great quality meat, fish and seasonal vegetables, all cooked on the city centre’s only Josper grill, that are designed to be shared and explored. 

Dishes are set to include starters of crispy lamb belly with pickled walnut puree; Josper-grilled prawns with miso and mint; and fried lion’s mane mushrooms with caramelised cauliflower puree. Main dishes offering a herd. twist on Christmas classics include Josper-grilled breast of goose with Szechaun glaze, and venison with bramble and dark chocolate jus, as well as vegetarian options such as salt-baked celeriac with panko egg yolk and potato foam, and of course a host of top steaks sourced from the best global producer – chocolate-fed wagyu or Prussian Diamond anyone? For pudding, delight in herd.’s signature sticky toffee pudding with smokey bourbon sauce, a rich milk chocolate ganache with brûléed banana and peanut cremeux, or dive into the bramble crumble with a festive brandy custard.

Of course, where there are top quality dishes, there has to be top quality wine! herd. is proud to offer an extensive New World wine list alongside acclaimed Kentish sparkling and still wines, all of which can be enjoyed alongside your meal, or as a festive drink in the secluded hide lounge.
