Stag to open this week

Stag, the latest addition to Canterbury’s Marlowe Arcade, opens on 21 March with a special launch event planned for Saturday 23 March.

Stag is an independent, family run business serving speciality coffee and delicious food sourced from local producers. Customers will be able to enjoy late night opening with local cask ales and cocktails, al fresco dining in St Margaret’s Street, plus a calendar of events throughout the year. These will include live music, comedy nights, food challenges and wine tasting events.

The opening event on Saturday will feature a live DJ from 10am to 3pm as well as free giveaways and food sampling.

Manager Freddie Hewett says: “We are delighted to be opening a new Stag restaurant in Whitefriars. We are coffee lovers at heart, and ours is roasted in small batches so all coffees are served at their freshest. From our delicious sandwiches and homemade quiches to our scrumptious cakes and gooey brownies, all of our food is made by us in house or sourced from local businesses. At Stag, we pride ourselves on offering great customer service with options to suit everyone’s tastes, including gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, dairy free and more. If you can’t see it, just ask our team!”

On the menu will be Stag’s novelty burgers, including The Simpson’s themed ‘Chief Wiggum Burger’, ‘The Sweaty Sumo’, and for a lighter option, the ‘Carbun Fibre burger’.

Stag will open in the Marlowe Arcade from 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 5pm on a Sunday.
