SUMMER FASHION HITS THE CATWALK AS ROYAL VICTORIA PLACE GOES ‘ALL WOMAN’

ALL WOMAN FASHION EVENT HOSTED BY CARYN FRANKLIN, MBE

West Kent’s largest shopping centre, Royal Victoria Place (RVP) in Tunbridge Wells will be pulling out all the stops to get shoppers in the mood for summer and to celebrate the arrival of the season’s latest new fashions hitting the shops… but this event is for ladies only!

RVP will be celebrating the ‘Year of the Woman’ with an ‘All Woman Fashion Event’ taking place on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th May hosted by leading female fashion writer and presenter, Caryn Franklin, MBE.

Caryn was the former fashion editor for i-D Magazine and presenter of the BBC Clothes Show which ran prime-time for 12 years. Caryn has interviewed all leading international design talent, amongst them Giorgio Armani, Tom Ford, Yves St Laurent, Marc Jacobs, Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen, John Galliano and many more. A personal and professional stylist, Caryn has worked with many individuals and high street labels plus she has written four books and regularly writes for online and hard copy publications.

The two day fashion filled event will showcase the season’s hottest new trends for women aged between 20 and 70 from over 30 of the centre’s leading fashion, footwear and accessory stores. The specially choreographed shows will include print clash, pastels, colour drenching, 80’s remix, mono mania, athletic chic and denim luxe.

RVP is delighted to be supporting ‘Fashion Targets Breast Cancer’ which is a charity Caryn Franklin has co-chaired with leading British designer Amanda Wakeley since 1996. The charity which unites the world of fashion against breast cancer has raised more than £15 million and helps fund Breast Cancer Now’s vital life-saving breast cancer research.

As part of this unique fashion event to mark the year of the woman, RVP will be partnering with Kent College to showcase the work of aspiring young female fashion designers at student fashion shows taking place on Thursday 24th May which will feature designs by students aged between 14 and 18 years of age.  A special fashion exhibition of Kent College students work will also be on display at RVP between 24th May and 3rd June.

Marc Burchett, Marketing Manager of Royal Victoria Place commented; “We are delighted that Caryn Franklin will be supporting our ‘All Woman Fashion Event’ here at RVP. Her immense experience and expertise within the fashion industry is second to none, and we can’t wait for her to share with us all her fashion tips for the summer season ahead. We are also really excited to involve the students from Kent College, who may well be the fashion designers of the future. So therefore it is so important that we help support their career development and this event is just perfect for this.”
