Tarot Reading & Italian Romance at San Carlo this Valentine’s Day

Few cultures understand romance quite like the Italians, and this Valentine’s Day, San Carlo invites guests to celebrate love, friendship and self-indulgence the Italian way. Across its award-winning restaurants, San Carlo offers a warm and inviting setting for marking the occasion, whether enjoying an intimate dinner, a lively night out with friends or an indulgent moment of solo dining. Each restaurant provides a vibrant, romantic backdrop designed to create truly unforgettable moments.

Ahead of Valentine’s Day, San Carlo is inviting guests in London and Birmingham to celebrate friendship, love and a little bit of magic with a Galentine’s inspired Tarot & Champagne evening. Taking place at Fumo, Waterloo Street, Birmingham today, Wednesday 11 February and Alto by San Carlo at Selfridges, London on Thursday 12 February, the events run from 6pm until 10pm.

Each evening includes a glass of Veuve Clicquot Brut on arrival, a personalised mini tarot reading with the Psychic Sister team,  a manifestation talk by Josephine McGrail to set the mood and complimentary popcorn, set to the soundtrack of live Neo-soul. The evenings offer guests the chance to gather with friends, raise a glass and discover what the future may hold for love, friendship and the year ahead in a playful and celebratory setting. Both evenings are ticketed, with limited availability to keep the experience intimate and unhurried. Guests are welcome to stay on for food and drinks beyond their allocated slot, letting the night unfold naturally.

Available across San Carlo, Fumo, Cicchetti and Selfridges restaurants, this year San Carlo invites guests to celebrate and enjoy an Italian take on Valentine’s, with devilishly good pairings, show-stopping desserts, beautifully styled cocktails and live music and events, in selected restaurants until Sunday 15 February.

Created exclusively for Valentine’s Day, a selection of bespoke desserts take centre stage across the restaurants. At San Carlo, Fumo and Cicchetti, guests can enjoy the Raspberry Red Velvet Indulgence, featuring layers of moist red velvet sponge, raspberry compote and smooth milk chocolate mousse. For guests dining at Selfridges locations, the Dolce Heart is served at Alto, (Selfridges, London), Champagne Bar (Selfridges, Trafford Centre) Bottega and Gran Cafe (Selfridges Exchange Square, Manchester) and Fumo (Selfridges, Birmingham), combining delicate strawberry mousse layered with champagne ganache and popping candy, dusted with gold leaf to finish. To complement the food, guests can enjoy a curated selection of Valentine’s cocktails, mocktails and Champagne.

At Alto by San Carlo, Cicchetti Piccadilly, Fumo Birmingham & Manchester and San Carlo Alderley Edge & Liverpool, Valentine’s is accompanied by live music and DJs, on Friday 13 & Saturday 14 February, adding another layer of atmosphere as the evening unfolds – from relaxed early dinners to late-night celebrations. Whether you’re booking an intimate dinner or staying late for cocktails, the music sets the tone for a Valentine’s evening that feels vibrant, stylish and unmistakably San Carlo.
