Things to do with kids in Kent
There are a lot of ways to keep the kids entertain when visiting Kent or indeed if you live in the area. That doesn’t mean that the adults can’t enjoy these attractions though as many of them are fun for the whole family. Without further ado here are some of the best things to do with the kids in Kent.
Museums
Kent is host to lots of really interesting museums. Which you visit will depend on what your family’s interests are. The Canterbury Roman Town, for example, is a really interesting attraction for anybody interested in history or the Romans. And if you like that then you might also want to check out Chiddingstone Castle as it is also a lot of fun. If you find boats or maritime interesting, then either Dover Museum or The Historic Dockyard Chatham are great choices. All of these and in fact, any of the other museums in Kent have a lot of things for kids to see and do. There is a lot that each museum can teach the whole family.
Food
Eating is a necessary part of any day out but it doesn’t need to be any less fun. There are lots of great restaurants to visit. Knoops is a great cafe that has a wonderful selection of food and drink as well as vegetarian and vegan options. If you are after something spicier then Maharani Indian Restaurant has some of the best Indian food in the area and you can always have the kids share a larger meal if they aren’t likely to finish a full one themselves. There is always the option to order food to where you’re staying. Deliveroo, for example, delivers restaurant quality food with a GBK menu straight to your doorstep so if you exhausted from the day’s activities then you can stay home and order some great meals.
Outdoor Activities
Kent has numerous outdoor activities to take advantage of. Whether you want to take a historic boat trip in Canterbury, visit Wingham Wildlife Park or climb up high in the trees with Go Ape, there is a lot of fun to be had for the whole family. A lot of these attractions are quite near each other so it might best to plan your day around an area such as Canterbury and pack as much related to that as possible into one day. Although, you’d have just as much fun spending a full day at Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest as there is plenty to see and do there.
