This Mother’s Day Treat Mum To A Special Day On The Northern Belle

Heart of Kent Hospice is bringing the style and glamour of 1930s steam travel to Kent with an exclusive trip on the magnificent Northern Belle.

The Hospice is chartering Britain’s finest luxury vintage steam train for a unique, lunch-time excursion through the spectacular Kent countryside. Guests will be welcomed aboard by liveried stewards and shown to individually designed carriages, each inspired by the grandeur and elegance of a British castle or stately home.

A Black class 5 steam special locomotive will transport passengers back to a golden age of travel as they enjoy champagne and canapés, followed by an exquisite, four course meal prepared from locally sourced organic Kent produce, seasonal ingredients accompanied by a carefully selected bottle of fine wine. Lunch will include a British cheeseboard, biscuits and chutneys and will be rounded off with coffee and petit fours.

As guests relax and enjoy this uniquely magical experience, they will be providing vital funding for one of Maidstone’s best loved charities.

Heart of Kent Hospice provides outstanding care and support to people in Kent facing the challenge of a terminal illness. Ann-Marie Kelly, Director of Income Generation at the Hospice, explained why this venture is so important: “We transform lives by providing the very best care possible for people in their homes, in the community and in the Hospice – but we can only do this with the help of our supporters.

“A trip on the Northern Belle is a truly remarkable experience that will create lifelong memories for friends and loved ones. As well as making a wonderful gift for a birthday or special occasion, every ticket sold will help Heart of Kent Hospice create lasting memories for the people in our care.”

The journey begins on Saturday 11 May 2019, departing from Maidstone East at 12.30pm and returning at around 5pm. Dress code is smart day wear and tickets are priced at £349 per person and include a glass of champagne, canapés, a four-course lunch, coffee and petit fours and a bottle of wine  per couple. All profits from this event will support the Heart of Kent Hospice.
