Whitefriars supports Catching Lives’ Winter Shelter

This Christmas, Whitefriars and Canterbury BID are supporting Catching Lives’ Winter Shelter campaign. Visitors to the centre can make a quick and easy £3 contactless donation by credit/debit card
via the special giving window alongside Skechers in Whitefriars Square.

Julie Holness says: “The Catching Lives Winter Shelter runs every year between December and
February, providing overnight accommodation to the homeless of Canterbury. For the price of a cup of
coffee and using the latest contactless technology, visitors can make an instant £3 donation just by
tapping their card on the window. Money raised will help keep the lights and heating on at the shelter
and provide meals and mental health support through the Day Centre.”

Catching Lives Chair of Trustees, Jason Hanford and Trustee, James Duff have visited the Giving
Window to show their support. Jason commented, “The colder weather draws more clients to our Day
Centre every week and the recent rise in fuel prices puts an ever-increasing strain on our resources. We
are very grateful to Whitefriars and Canterbury BID for getting fully behind our cause to help the
homeless of Canterbury this Christmas.”
