Wilderness weekends created by survivalist Ed Stafford

Wilderness weekends launched to bring much-needed outdoor fun for UK families Outdoor adventure company Camp Wilderness is delighted to be springing head-first into a brighter season, with brand-new camping experience in the beautiful location of Penshurst Place, curated by world-renowned survival expert Ed Stafford.

After more than a year of lockdown, the all-new Camp Wilderness Families will enable families to get their heads away from screens and back into the fresh air of the great outdoors again. Kicking off in July, the weekends are designed to immerse families into a world of exploration that is designed to be fun, challenging and exciting. And, with Ed Stafford having curated these exhilarating weekends, they are promised to provide lasting happy memories for years to come.

There are two weekends to choose from, depending on whether families want a two
or three-day experience.

• The two-day weekends are a chance to reset the family dynamic out in nature, with the chance to spend much-needed down time together, away from screens and doing wholesome outdoor activities with each-other.

• The three-day weekends, especially created by Ed, include everything that the two-day weekend offers, but is designed to test the mind and body with much more challenging bushcraft and survival experiences.

With activities such as food foraging, animal tracking and fire lighting, those who choose to take up either weekend are promised to leave with many new skills than when they first arrived. Ed comments: “I’m delighted to be partnering with Camp Wilderness this year to bring new experiences to so many families.

“With no roads, buildings or technology, Camp Wilderness Families will bring out the very best in those who want to re-connect with nature and each other again, especially after being indoors for so long.”

Sleeping accommodation during both weekend options is in a wonderful safari-style tipi tent and food is provided courtesy of a personal chef (not very camping but we’re not complaining!).

Max Folkes, Managing Director of Camp Wilderness adds: “We have designed these weekends so that they are a perfect combination of rest and relaxation with a hint of challenge. These fun and challenging activities will test both the mind and body at the same time.

“We know that families have faced incredible pressures during the last 12 months, and this is a way to help them re-connect with each other again after screen time may have forced them to become detached from each other, even whilst being under the same roof.”

Prices for the weekends start from £380.00 per family and places are limited. For more information about Camp Wilderness Families please visit to
